Argue With My Dad

It has been awhile since I last posted on AWMD, but it is time to get back on the horse after a whirlwind 2 or 3 weeks.  After a wonderful trip to welcome our Marine son home from Afghanistan, he flew home with us and spent a quick, but exciting week here at home.  He is on his way back to base now, but we are relieved to know that he is no longer in harms way in Afghanistan.  He is in an IED Free zone, as he put it, in Hawaii and after visiting Oahu, he is in paradise.  Welcome Home Lt. and thank you!

Since it is Friday it  is time once again for yet another edition of  the AWMD Friday Free For  All. This is the only time of the week when  our arguewithmydad.com readers can control the topic(s) for  discussion.  All you have to do  is get someone else to respond to your  suggested topic and then the  floor is yours.  Don’t be shy and don’t  hesitate.  Get busy and be sure  to let us know your views and  arguments so everyone can read and react  to them.  Right here on arguewithmydad.com.  I will make a few suggestions for possible topics, but they are only suggestions.  Today is Friday so only you can be the decider.   But you need to tell us what you want to  discuss.  So, what is on your mind today?  With all that is going on, how can you not speak your mind?  Let’s hear from you!

My first suggested topic for discussion concerns Teapublicans and global warming.  Just what is it that the Teapublicans don’t get when it comes to global warming?  The middle of the country is embroiled in a killer heatwave and drought and Teapublicans like Oklahoma Senator Jin Inhofe can only joke about it when the heat has killed over a dozen of his constituents!  (more…)

I will be out of town on Wednesday so my usual Wednesday’s Shorts article will be a little late.  I hope to be able to get it written when I return Thursday evening.  I am off to Southern Illinois to cheer on my beloved Salukis in a basketball game against the Sycamores of Indiana State.  We have had a subpar season so I am hoping to squeeze out at least one more win!  See you on Thursday!!  Go Salukis!!

As you can see, we have changed the theme of arguewithmydad.com to the original theme that we started with when we began this endeavor.  It is not just the same old look because we have added some features that were not available earlier.  Each person who posts on AWMD can now add their own “avatar” or picture to correspond to their posts.  I am still looking for a picture that suits my distinguished and mature good lucks.  It may be a long search!
